Bella for Breast Cancer

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness and Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge (CC188) is a tribute. The two cards are done with Pretty in Pink, Basic Black and Whisper White. I stamped my adorable little Bella, from Hostess lev 3 set Window Dressing, in Basic Black ink, punched her out with the 1" Circle Punch and then colored her in with Blush Blossom, Pretty in Pink and Basic Black SU Markers. I then layered her on a 1-1/4" Circle of Pretty in Pink or Basic Black and the reverse color for the next Scallop Punch layer. The polka dot paper is from a retired hostess designer paper pack. The card on the left has a decorative edge achieved with the must have tool, the Scallop Edge Punch. The sentiment is from the Window Dressing set as well and is heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder. Finished it off with 2 Black Gingham Ribbons. The card on the right is also for this weeks SCS Challenges, the sketch challenge (SC198). The same ingredients were used as in the first card, except my sentiment is a rub-on from the Take Notes Rub-Ons and of course I've changed the layout. You can see the sketch below if you'd like to give it a try.
The little 'purse' was kreated with Pink Pirouette and my adorable Bella again. You can view a tutorial here for the little purse. So if you'd like the challenge, heres your sketch, grab your pink, black and white and get kreating!!

Divine Window

This divine window got dressed up with some 'purdy' curtains, a window box, fancy flowers... phew, this card took forever. And looking at the picture here it loses its effect 'cause you really can't see all the dimension to it :( This set is called Window Dressings and it is a Hostess Lev 3 set coming out in the new catalog - Monday Aug 11th - oh I am just sooooo excited for you all to see the new book - its fabulous! I will be sure to have it posted here on my side bar for you to view, so make sure to check it out. Ok, back to my card... I inked out my window twice in Basic Black onto Watercolor Paper. I used my Aquapainter to add Baja Breeze to my shutters which I then snipped out and placed on dimensionals over my other stamped out window. I used my Creamy Caramel Marker to color the frame of the window. Using my Hobby Blade I carefully cut out the 'window pane' and then added a piece of acetate behind it to kreate my 'pane of glass'. Curtains were kreated using my Oval Punch on designer paper and slightly overlapping the two ovals. This window just wanted more... I kreated a window box and used my Aquapainter to color it in with Close to Cocoa ink. TIP: SU ink pads when closed can be squeezed in the middle and upon opening, you will have alittle pool of ink to use to Watercolor with your Aquapainter. Then I inked out my little flowers from this set using my Markers and then colored them in a bit and snipped out these very tiny flowers. My flowers glisten a bit with some Crystal Effects. I placed the flowers in the window box and popped the box up on dimensionals. Lots of little details that woefully don't show in the picture The base of this card is a new In Color, Baja Breeze and layered on top is Mellow Moss. In the center of the card I again used my Hobby Blade to cut through these two layers, kreating an opening to place my window over. The finishing touches were Mellow Moss Grosgrain Ribbon and my sentiment from a new set called Heard from the Heart. The window itself has so much detail that I wish you could see, but this card still looks so plain. Ah well...

Charming Box Sneak Peek

I needed a little something for some neighbors that just moved in. I had the idea to do a simple card with my new Window Dressing set (Lev 3 Hostess set in the new catalog to be released Aug 11th) and some acetate for windows, then I stumbled upon this adorable box with the idea I had in mind for my card. So instead of a card, I HAD to try this box. Isn't this the cutest!! I first kreated all my score lines for my box and then stamped out my window in Close to Cocoa ink onto Tempting Turquoise cardstock. Then cut out my 'windows' with my hobby blade and placed a piece of acetate/transparency (thanks to my hubby for bringing me a piece home from work pronto) behind the window. Then inked up my shutters and precious little girl in Close to Cocoa and stamped them onto Watercolor Paper. I used my Aquapainter and watercolored the shutters with Apricot Appeal and the darling little girl with Pixie Pink and Close to Cocoa. I used my Scallop Punch on a piece of Apricot Appeal DSP to create my 'window valance'. I placed my little girl peering out her window, applied the 'welcome' letter rub-ons (from Take Note rub-ons) and then assembled the box. Placed a white grosgrain ribbon at the top for my handle and this darling box is ready to be filled and delivered to welcome our new neighbors.
Hope you like it!
