Just Buzzin By with a Mojo Monday Sketch. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We had a great day despite the chilly temperatures. Pretty spring dresses for my little girls and winter coats :) Where's SPRING? My little bee's are buzzin by hoping for spring too! Here they are all a buzz around their paper pieced polka dotted Apricot Appeal honey pot. Each bee is inked in Choc Chip and wings and antenna given a dusting of some Dazzling Diamonds. My sentiment was 'isolated' using Choc Chip marker to ink up only the portion I wanted. Pretty simple card, just follow the sketch and have fun.

Happy Easter
Bunnies, eggs and chocolates are not the reason for celebrating Easter, but it is still fun for the children (and even us adults :) ) to celebrate His resurrection with these timeless traditions. So even though this clean and simple 3x3 card has the cutest little bunny, it is to wish you a very Blessed Easter :)
Hoppy Easter :)

Scrapbook Page in a Box
No peeking with this gift! If you do, you'll be pleasantly surprised by what is inside, but you may not be able to put it back quick enough if you are trying to sneek a peek! Isn't this a cute way to present a small (and light weight) gift and then have an adorable keepsake. I was inspired to kreate this box by Robyn from In Joy Stampin. I'm not sure if she is the originator of this idea, but all the same, its an adorable project whoever came up with it! Very simple, take your 12x12 paper and score at 4 and 8 and then turn and score at 4 and 8 again. Cut your middle pieces, across from each other, along the score lines. Fold all your score lines and you'll be able to fold these up into a box -NO adhesive, your lid will hold it all in place. See, your lid holds your boxes shape and once removed, your 12x12 will open up to reveal what is inside :) Ok, now you need your lid. Cut a 6 in square and score all sides at 1 in. At each corner, cut up to the intersecting score line and cut the corner square into a diagonal. Use the remaining triangles/diagonal cut piece, add a mini glue dot and kreate your lid. TIP: If you'd like to scallop your edge like I did, you'll have to do this before you adhere your corners. TIP #2:You may want to try making your lid with scallops out of copy paper first before using the good stuff :)
I used coordinating colored 3-11/16 squares to place on my 4 inch patterned paper squares. The center, I used a Whisper White square which I stamped on, but I can still journal on and then covered it with another square scored at 1/4" on the top to kreate a flap. Embellished my flap and all that is left is adding my pictures. My girls are wearing the cutest pink and white dresses for Easter - I'll be taking plenty of pictures to place in my box :) Contact me if you have questions on this quick tutorial. It really is quite simple!

The Perfect Flowers
Why not send flowers that will never die? No watering and they could last forever. This flower pot just makes me cheery :) Is there an occasion this wouldn't work for? Any way, I wish I could take credit for the original idea, but I had seen it awhile back (when blog hopping) and unfortunately never bookmarked the site. Please if any of you know who I can give proper credit to, please let me know. It really was not difficult to re-create if you know how to make a pocket card. And that's how it all began, I was making a pocket card and remembered the idea of a flower pot. So my inspired kreation bloomed. I used the Big Shot and the Simple Flower die to pop out my flowers and the 5 Petal Flower Punch to kreate my leaves. The pot was kreated by taking a 4"x9" piece of Kraft folding it in half and then folding the front of the card down approx 2". The 'rim' of the pot received a decorative Scallop Punched edge. Then I ran the pot through the Big Shot with the Texturz Background Plates to give the pot a soft embossed look(leaving the rim off of the plate so it wouldn't get embossed). To give it a bit more dimension I used my Dauber inked in Close to Cocoa and gently daubed in circular motions over the embossed impression. What a difference this little step made!
The insert that slides in the pocket was 2 1/2 x 4 3/4. TIP: Before I adhered my flowers, I used a standard envelope, as a template, to place along side my card to make sure when adhering my flowers, I didn't go beyond my envelope dimensions. I attached my Big Shot Simple Flowers, making sure to adhere them overhanging the pot, but not sticking to the pot (if that happens, you will not be able to pull out your insert from the pocket!) Used my 2-way Glue Pen to add some Dazzling Diamonds to the centers. The piece holding the card together, the perfect touch of Choc Chip ribbon tied around the entire card to maintain the pocket. TIP: You could always add a mini glue dot at each top corner to keep the pocket closed.
Isn't it adorable? I have a class tonight and I'm pretty sure they are gonna love it! Let me know if you have any questions.

Connect with family and friends when you make them beautiful cards and gifts using products from the Occasions Mini Catalog. From April 1-30, when you buy $40 in products from the Occasions Mini or host a workshop totaling $150 or more, you'll get one item from the "Under $10" page (p. 208) in the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog--FREE!
Look at what you can make using Occasions Mini products. I told you how I loved the
new Matchbox Die for the Big Shot (and there is a coordinating stamp set too, Matchbox Messages 113800), well here is a little project you can do with it. Great fit for Hershey Nuggets, but also would be cute for little trinket gifts! I used Bella Rose for my Matchbox and to wrap my Hershey Nuggets. Then I used the new Window Sheets to slide the little box into. TIP: Click HERE to watch a brief video of what you can do with the two new Window Sheet products.
Wrapped up the Matchbox with a White Organza Ribbon and used the 'have to have it' new Scallop Oval Punch and the Oval All set to kreate my tag. Cute right? Guarantee you won't have a problem getting that FREE item for the Get Connected Promotion.

Very Versatile
A simple image and a variety of phrases truly makes this a Very Versatile set and you can order now from the new Occasions Mini Catalog (available April 1 - June 30). Sometimes I like to start a card with a sketch, seems to make it easier, so this card was inspired by Taylored Expressions challenge #61 (TECC61). You can view the sketch below at the end of this post and be inspired to kreate your own card :) This card started with a Kraft base and the image was stamped on Very Vanilla with Choc Chip ink. I traced over the image with my VersaMarker, sprinkled on some Clear Embossing Powder, heated it up with my heating tool to give it a bit more 'pop'. Using gentle circular strokes, I lightly sponged over the entire Very Vanilla piece with Close to Cocoa. Then the edges were sponged with Choc Chip and then layered over Choc Chip. The Baja Breeze layer, also sponged, was given a decorative frame with the Eyelet Border Punch. I love the new Parisian Breeze Specialty paper, the colors and added texture are so classy. If you are familiar with the paper, this may look a bit different - reason, I lightly sponged Close to Cocoa over the designer paper to give it a more distressed look, so it is not the normal white background. My final touches, a 5/8" Choc Chip Grosgrain Ribbon tied in a bow, layered over Baja Breeze Double Stitched Ribbon and some Very Vanilla brads. Voila'
