These were the last two cards kreated at my Holiday Mini class bash. Simple, but I think so cute :) And the girls in my class adored making them.
* A zip through the Big Shot with the new Bear Die kreated my Kraft and Choc Chip teddys. An additional zip through the Big Shot with scraps of Very Vanilla and Close to Cocoa kreate my 'muzzle' around the nose and mouth and Real Red for a 'real' heart.
* To kreate the eyes, nose and mouth, I punched out a 1" circle to coordinate with my teddys fur (one is Choc Chip for Kraft teddy, the other is Basic Black for Choc Chip teddy) and adhered it to the back of the bear.
* Bashful Blue and the 'argyle' Texturz Background I plate take a spin through the Big Shot, as does Regal Rose and the large polka dots Texturz Background I plate.
* Then each were run through the Big Shot with the Top Note Die. Perfect little backgrounds to pop up (adhere with dimensionals for a 3D effect) my teddy bear.
* Sentiments from the new Beary Nice Wishes were inked across the bottom of the So Saffron and Dusty Durango standard card bases.
* A cupcake from Crazy for Cupcakes was snipped out and placed onto my teddys paw to wish a very Happy Bearthday to someone special.
* A single flower punched from Boho Blossoms, stem from the Swirls Scribbles Sizzlit, in teddys paw offers a bit of cheer to wish someone well, beary soon!
Wait until you see this bear all dolled up, yep, die cut clothes and accessories available too. Check them out in the Holiday Mini Catalog.
Any questions, I'm only a click away. Have a beary great day!

Love Always

Earlier last week my husband and I celebrated our anniversary. The traditional gift for our year is Bronze.
* Soft Suede became my 'bronze' and my standard card base.
* A piece of Very Vanilla and the 'swirly' Backgrounds I Texturz Plate took a zip through my Big Shot
* The edges were spruced up with some Soft Suede sponged on the edges
* Three Antique Brass Eyelets found a home in the upper right corner using my Crop a dile
* My heart from the Always stamp set was first inked in some VersaMark and then onto Soft Suede. This enabled me to use my Clear Embossing Powder to give my hearts some dimension much like Craft ink. In Colors do not come in Craft ink, so I kreated my own. I have heard that this technique is safe to your ink pads, but an alternative if you are worried might be to ink with VersaMark and using a dauber apply your Classic ink color, maybe? I'll have to try that next time.
* After my Clear Embossing Powder was set on my hearts and cooled slightly, I used my paper snips to cut them out and popped them up on dimensionals.
* The reverse side of my Soft Suede polka dot ribbon and a 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain ribbon layered on top, kreate my horizontal 'strip'
* My husbands favorite color, Real Red, had to spice up the card a tad more. So I added a little extra with a 1-3/4" Circle to matte under my Soft Suede inked 'a-always' stamp, which was punched out with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch
Simple, and I think I pulled off masculine-ish :) LOL He had only nice things to say, so it works ;)

School has begun

The new school year had begun! My oldest started PreK and she is loving it. This was just a little something for her new teacher.
The idea for the card come from one similar in the SU Stampin' Success Magazine, an awesome perk as a demonstrator, full of inspiration. I had to make one, it was just perfect. Supplies for card below. Then I had seen these adorable pencils out in blogland and decided to figure it out and make a few. They turned out to be very easy and OH so cute :)
* Started with a piece of Crushed Curry measured at 3-1/8 x 5-1/2 TIP: You may have to trim a little from your length measurements - each pack of mentos was slightly different
* Scored at 1/2, 1, 1-1/2, 2, 2-1/2 (along the 3-1/8 side)- kreates a pentagon shape which enables the side with your seam to lay flat on a surface
* Bent my score lines slightly and accented the lines - inked up my dauber in Crushed Curry and 'daubbed' it along my score line
* Placed a piece of Sticky Tape along the edge
* Slipped in my package of Mentos
* Removed the covering on the Sticky Tape and tightly wrapped and adhered my 'pencil' covering. The little pink end of my mentos represents the eraser
* A sliver (approx 1/2") of Brushed Silver is wrapped around the base of my eraser
* The final touch, a hersey kiss affixed with glue dots kreates the pencil tip.
* Wrapped them with Black Gingham ribbon and a Ruby Red Scallop with an apple stamped from Tart N Tangy. Adorable if I do say so myself! I couldn't pass up the opportunity, especially for her PreK teacher. I think my daughter would be a bit embarrassed if one day I sent these with her to high school LOL.
Hope you enjoyed and have a teacher in your life to kreates these for. Any questions, I'm only a click away!

Shabby Chic Christmas

More cards from my Holiday Mini class bash. This one (or I should say 2), inspired by Kim Vandiepen, uses the gorgeous new holiday Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper. Isn't this red and white paper pretty, and its even better in person when you see the dimension the flocking gives to the white damask image! Yep, I said flocking - its SO pretty!!!
OK, my girls had their choice which color combo they wanted to go with...so heres the gist of it
* Real Red card base or Soft Suede card base
* Using the fabulous Kind Thoughts Brocade Stencil (found in the definitely decorative catalog), I kreated the background by placing my stencil then using a Sponge Dauber to apply VersaMark to my card base
* A torn (and the other one torn and rolled) strip of Whisper White was adhered to the top of a strip of Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP and adhered to the bottom half of the card
* White Taffeta or Kraft Taffeta Ribbon was used to hide the seam
* The final touches were my sentiments that came from the hostess lev 2 Christmas Punch set. The Wide Oval Punch was used to pop one out and then it dangles with some hemp twine. The other sentiment was popped out with the Large Oval Punch and placed on a Soft Suede Scallop Oval.
If you love these little punched out sentiments from the hostess lev 2 Christmas Punch set, consider Hosting a Party with me, check out the new Hostess Promotion, which will allow you to choose a stamp set from the Holiday Mini for $10 with a qualifying workshop order. Serene Snowflakes
I kreated this card for my recent Holiday Mini class bash and it also complies with Stamp Simply #103 challenge to 'merely stamp your sentiment over your image'. This card had the wow factor in my class as it was so easy to kreate using a very cool technique called VersaMark Resist. (click on card to enlarge) Ready for the steps and supplies...
* Started with Glossy White cardstock
* Inked up my Serene Snowflakes in VersaMark and randomly stamped them onto the Glossy Cardstock
* Inked up my Brayer in Bashful Blue Classic ink and rolled it over my Glossy Cardstock until it was completely covered and 'blended'. Tip: I rolled my brayer both vertically and horizontally over the card to get full blended coverage - continue to ink up brayer and apply to glossy paper to achieve desired hue of color.
VOILA' my beautiful Serene Snowflakes resist the ink and kreate a beautiful card in minutes!
* My sentiment from All Holidays was inked with Ruby Red Craft ink and guess what... for those of you who follow me regularly know that I love my Ice :), I sprinkled Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and with my Heat Tool, heated to set my sparkle. Tip: When heating Glossy Cardstock it tends to warp slightly, a little extra SNAIL adhesive to the back and layering onto an additional matte will do the trick!
* Glossy Cardstock image matted with Whisper White and layered onto my Brocade Blue card base.
* The delicate Organza Ribbon was the perfect touch for my Serene Snowflakes. Accented with a Jumbo White Grommet and faux knot adhered in the middle with a glue dot... I LOVE the simplicity of this card. Definitely falls into my 'under 15' minutes category! Hope you like it. Leave me a comment below to let me know, love it when you do!!

Simple Snowman

When I first saw this set in the mini, I knew I wanted to isolate my 'man', leaving off the thank you sentiment on his belly and kreate my snowman in the snow. So with todays PPA color challenge, Brocade Blue, Ruby Red, Crushed Curry, I decided to dress him up and sit him in the snow.
* Using my Basic Black SU marker to outline him, I stamped him onto Whisper White
* Inked up his hat and scarf again and stamped on Ruby Red and Crushed Curry. Snipped out the layers of his hat and scarf and pieced the 'outfit' together. Tedious task but worth the look, I punched out my little Crushed Curry dots with my handheld punch and adhered them with my 2-way glue pen
* Tore a piece of Whisper White and scraped the edges with VersaMark and gave the snow some life with Iridescent Ice
* Kreated a 'mask' of this snowman by stamping and snipping him out. Layered my mask over my card and then with my dauber and Brocade Blue ink, I kreated by sky background
* Using a small circle punch and piercer, I kreated my Ruby Red buttons.
* Pastel chalks give a subtle pink glow to the cheeks and an Only Orange Marker makes for the perfect carrot nose
* Finally took my 'scene' and layered onto a Ruby Red card base
Isn't he a darling snowman? I love it :)

The Holidays are a coming, the Mini Catalog is HERE

Today is the release of the much anticipated Holiday Mini Catalog. I think you are going to love all the fun treats you find inside. There will be a downloadable version on my right sidebar (as soon as it is released, be sure to check back). If you'd like a copy mailed to you, let me know.
One of the hot/must have 'treats' I think you will find is the Sweet Centers Stamp set with the coordinating Sweet Treat Cups. I had my mind wrapped around this kreation the minute I saw the Halloween Eek. My spider came to life with a body of Sweet Treats, legs punched from the Photo Corner Punch, a hand 'spun' web and of course some Iridescent Ice, some googlie eyes and a sweet little smile. My grandfather always used to say EVERYTHING has a heart, so as I think of all the shreeks and eeks I've let out over seeing a spider, I remember my PopPops words. And you know they probably ARE smiling thinking how silly are these people, frightened of lil ol me. LOL So leave me a comment and let me know what ya think of my spider, with a heart :)
You will also see a brand new SU exclusive... My Digital Studio Software. Customer ordering for this item will begin Oct 1.
Another sweet deal, from today through November, host a workshop totaling $250 or more and choose any one item* from the 2009 Holiday Mini Catalog for only $10! (*offer excludes hostess sets and My Digital Studio)
If you live in the Bergen County NJ area and are interested in hosting a party in your home, contact me, I'd love to stamp and party with you. Or placing a qualifying order yourself or with a few friends and earn hostess benefits (it won't be hard to do in this catty :) Happy Shopping, Happy Stamping :)
I'm off to finish preparations for my own Holiday Mini Bash this evening. FUN :) Make sure to have a Wish List... I'll leave ya to prepare to peruse a good book :)
