Inspired by this Lady in Red? Join the Pals Paper Arts with the PPA76 Challenge. Think red, think Valentines, think elegant, think simple... just be inspired to have fun and kreate! As you can see by my interpretation, I was thinking a simple Valentine. There aren't always hours+ available to make a card LOL! So, though not always the easiest to kreate simple, I am trying to get better.
* Started with a standard Crumb Cake cardbase
* Too 'flat'? Add flecks of Soft Suede ink using your Color Spritzer for some visual interest :) I just love a good fleck
* Grab your Sponge Dauber (I always have one handy!!)- soften/distress the edges with Soft Suede ink
* Punch out a Cherry Cobbler strip using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border
* As if that isn't pretty enough on its own, I just had to add some hugs and kisses details with some Linen Thread. Love it!!
* Inked up the heart in Basic Brown from the hostess lev 1 set Punch Potpourri and using Blender Pens colored in the flowers. TIP: Kreate a pool of ink in the lid of your SU pad by squeezing pad together before opening OR using your SU marker scribble a tad on any plastic case for a little pool of ink - then dip your Blender Pen and color
* Love coordinating punches - popped out the heart with the Full Heart Punch. Grab that dauber again and distress the edges. Basic Pearls are the perfect accent for each flowers center
* Layered this heart onto a Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Heart to Heart that was run through with the Big Shot
* Got Bling? Now you have it instantly with no mess with the NEW Red Glimmer Paper in the Occasions Mini. How cool is that?! Ran the Scalloped Heart to Heart thru the Big Shot and popped out a blingin' heart
* I played on again off again with the Victoria Crochet Trim, but in the end it won with some delicate Basic Pearls
* Had to highlight my 'XOXO' with the perfect sentiment Hugs&Kisses from the All Holiday set. Inked first in VersaMark and then into Cherry Cobbler, stamped and sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.
* Layered each heart on Dimensionals for that little extra 'pop'
Thanks for stopping in for that little dose of me. I hope you liked my take on this challenge and I hope it inspires you to get your fingers inky and than drop by Mr Linky. HeHe!!!! ;) I'd love to know what ya think, if you'd take a moment to share. I love it when you do!

A Simple Valentine for the PPA

Vintage gift
Lately my days are ending before they ever seem to begin - ever feel that way? I don't feel like I'm finishing anything, just starting a lot and not accomplishing much. Does that make sense? Anywho, this will be a quick post, so that maybe I can go finish something :) I'll give ya more details later if interested. About a month ago I did a very interesting workshop in candlelight - yup, a table of go getters, nothing was gonna stop us, not even a storm :)
If you follow my blog, you have already seen the bookmark we made - I just love it!! If you are new, you can CLICK HERE for my prior posting with all the details on this bookmark.
This is the little stationary holder that I made to coordinate with it and gave to my wonderful hostess.
* I used the Vintage Vogue set along with the coordinating Very Vintage jumbo wheel.
* The Very Vanilla 'panel' was wheeled using Close to Cocoa ink
HINT: I don't own all cartridges for my wheels and since this is a small panel, I simply inked up my wheel on a standard ink pad and the ink goes the 'distance' (usually goes the distance of a standard card as well - anything larger you'll want to use an ink cartridge)
* Edges were distressed using a Sponge Dauber and Soft Suede ink. Then I lightly went over the panel randomly with more Soft Suede ink and a touch of Pretty in Pink to increase the 'vintagey' look
* A Taffeta Kraft ribbon, Razzleberry and Pretty in Pink snipped flowers were the finishing touches.
Any questions about any of my kreations, I am only a click away :) And thanks for taking a moment to stop by to get a little dose of me :) I always love to know your thoughts- I truly appreciate them!
Now don't forget, TODAY IS the last day to order from the Occasions Mini. Also ending today:
* 20% Off select 2 step stampin set
* Country Living a la carte kit
You can purchase all products online with me or email me with your orders, I'd be more than happy to help you.
Happy Kreating

A Sweet Sketch

A Sweet Sunday Sketch started this card out of the gate. And the recent PPA theme challenge, Flowers. I chose a few layers, but I think it is sweet and simple. Mellow Moss is one of the colors we'll bid a Fond Farewell with the exciting Color Renovation. I'll miss this color combination, but I'm so excited for the change! To the card...
* Started with a square card base (5x5) of Mellow Moss. Ran it through the Big Shot and the Texturz Backgrounds 1 plate with the large dots.
* A Pretty in Pink strip was given a decorative edge with the Scallop Border Trim, but it pretty much gets hidden under the top few layers
* Pretty in Pink Vintage Vogue flowers were stamped onto Whisper White and snipped out. Each center is adorned with a Clear Rhinestone Brad - need a little bling even on the simplest of cards :)
* The 'vine' image from Vintage Vogue was inked in Mellow Moss and stamped across my Whisper White square piece and then adhered flowers with glue dots
* Inked up sentiment in Mellow Moss and separated the images with a Mellow Moss ribbon and bow.
* The square layer of Whisper White is matted with Pretty in Pink and Mellow Moss and attached with dimensionals.
Any questions about any of my kreations, I am only a click away :) And thanks for taking a moment to stop by to get a little dose of me :)
Happy Kreating

The perfect pick me up :)

I've been under the weather for the last few days, but I woke up feeling a bit better and what better way to feel even a little more better, than to go and stamp :) I wasn't sure where I wanted to begin, so I jumped over to the current MOJO Monday sketch. I decide to flip the sketch and then off I went. If you are needing some inspiration, a great place to start is with a challenge - I really think it helps get those juices flowin!!
* I started with a base of Kraft cardstock (soon to be known as Crumb Cake in the upcoming Color Renovation - I'm so excited!!) and using a Sponge Dauber and Soft Suede ink, distressed the edges
* Using 2 patterns from Bella Blue DSP, I kreated my horizontal and vertical strips and again distressed the edges with Soft Suede ink and my sponge dauber.
* Inked up my hat, from Garden from the Heart, in Choc Chip Craft ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Colored in the hat with Creamy Caramel marker and accented the flowers/stems with Orchid Opulence and Gable Green. (All these colors are soon to be retired to make way for some fabulous new colors - if these are any of your favorites, make sure to get them before they are gone!!)
* Inked up the ribbon on the hat using Choc Chip marker and stamped onto a scrap piece of the same 'yellow' flourish Bella Bleu DSP used on the horizontal strips. Snipped out the ribbon and paper pieced it to my hat with glue dots.
* Snipped out my hat and placed it on dimensionals above a Very Vanilla Oval popped out using my Big Shot and Ovals Die
* Cinched up a piece of Very Vanilla Satin ribbon to tuck behind my image. TIP: To kreate this look, fringe the top of your ribbon a bit and try to pull out one strand vertically. Once you have a strand, tug away gently until you get the ruffled look you want.
* Inked up my sentiment from Well Scripted in Choc Chip Craft ink and using my heat tool, heat embossed with Clear Embossing powder to make it pop with that shiny raised appearance
* Finished the card off with some half back pearls from the Pretties Kit
Hope it inspires your MOJO :) Happy Stamping

Friends and a night to remember

Hello my friends :) I hope you enjoyed a very blessed Easter! It has been a few days since I've been in my little stampin oasis - gasp! But my other favorite place to be is outdoors; in my garden, playing with my kids, lounging in the sun :). The weather has been absolutely gorgeous here, which means lots of spring cleaning and prepping my garden for some lovely flowers. Not to mention keeping up with my little ones running around releasing a lot of pent up 'winter' energy LOL.
Anywho, onto this cute little gift idea. I kreated these little bookmarks for my last workshop. I loved how it turned out! Unfortunately the guests turned out slightly different... In the midst of a crazy storm the power went out, so we had to improvise a bit. My first workshop stamping in candle light! What a hoot, but I rolled with the punches :) And we all had a lot of laughs and a lot of fun, even if their Rich Razzleberry flowers turned into Close to Cocoa flowers (but they looked great anyway) A workshop I will never forget :)
This was how it was supposed to go...
* Very Vanilla was run through the Big Shot with the Two Tags die
* The vine from the Vintage Vogue set, available for a few more weeks in the Occasions Mini, was inked in Mellow Moss
* The flowers inked in Rich Razzleberry (inked off once for a lighter shade)
* 'F' was inked in Choc Chip Craft ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder
* Applied Soft Suede ink to the edges with a Sponge Dauber
* Threaded a piece of Wide Striped Choc Chip ribbon through a Horizontal Slot punch and tied it with a Linen Thread bow.
I'm chuckling just thinking of what a crazy night it was! Ah well... hope you like the bookmark :) Have a great one!!
If you live in the Bergen County NJ area and would like to host a workshop, I'd love to come party with you, with lights or without :) April 1-30 you may be eligible to get a new 2 step stampin set, Awash with Flowers, FREE with your qualifying workshop!!! Contact me so we can schedule a date!

Sale-a-bration Ends Today

Hello my friends, I'm back! Vacation was very nice, but do you ever come home feeling like you need another vacation? LOL Bags are unpacked, laundry is up to date, and there is food in the fridge, so I can get back to stampin' :)
I can not believe that Sale-a-bration ends today (11:50 MT). Don't delay, stock up and get your FREEBIES while you still can!!
This card is my first easel card, tutorial here from SCS, and I used the Sale-a-bration set Good Neighbors to have some fun with it before its gone :(
* My easel base is Choc Chip Textured cardstock. A strip of 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4 and 6-3/8 and another 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 (eventually I trimmed off the bottom about 1/2 to reveal my sentiment when the card is 'closed', but still able to be an easel card)
* Fold on your score lines, in half and the second score line in the opposite direction
* Using sticky strip I adhered my 4-1/4 square piece to the 2-1/8 x 4-1/4 section of the card - this will kreate your easel! Cool right?
* Cut out a piece of polka dot dsp (not sure which DSP it was from- gasp!) and fringed the top with my snips for some grass and adhered onto Whisper White
* Kreated my scene with the Good Neighbors set, inking up my trees (and bush) with SU Markers - Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, Certainly Celery and Melon Mambo flowers on my bush :). Crushed Curry and Close to Cocoa inked my house which I snipped out and placed on dimensionals. Can you see the little rhinestone doorknob? (from the Egg-cellent Eggs Kit). Bashful Blue puffy clouds were also snipped and adhered with glue dots.
* I had to add a tiny Crushed Curry butterfly from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit :)
* To get your easel to stand by itself, you need to place an 'extra' layer or embellishment to hold up your card. I used the Scallop Border Trim (available as a FREEBIE in SAB) on a piece of Crushed Curry that was run through the Big Shot with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and then layered with the gorgeous Choc Chip Satin Ribbon in the Occasions Mini and 'holding' the card with a bow. Cute :)
* The bottom (inside) of the card was inked with a Well Scripted sentiment in Choc Chip craft ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.
Hope you've made the most of Sale-a-bration this year, but if you haven't there are still a few more hours left! Don't wish you had, go for it while there is still time!
You can purchase all products online with me or email me with your orders. Don't forget your Sale-a-bration FREEBIES with orders of $50+ (before shipping and tax).

Hop into Spring with the Pals

If you've hopped over from Gina, Cards By Gina, I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find inspirational ideas for papercrafted creations from Mary Fish's Stampin' Pretty Pals! We'll be showcasing all that Stampin' Up! has to offer! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the PALS HOP LINE-UP below and you'll be back on track! We're thrilled to have you visit and excited to hear what you think about our Spring and Easter themed projects! Please feel free to leave as many comments as you'd like along the way!
I've been having lots of fun playing with the Egg-cellent Eggs Kit in the Occasions Mini. And I will show you that its not all about the egg :)
There is a bunny too :) Seriously, you will see I've used this kit to embellish a lot of projects, so far :) I still have so much more left! It is packed with die cut flowers, stems, leaves, egg stands (or borders as I used them), rub-ons, ADHESIVE BACKED RHINESTONES - shazam, bling bling!! I know, enough chatter, on with the show...
Click on any photo to enlarge.
This is a small cello bag that I used the rub-ons directly onto the cello. A Bashful Blue Top Note cut from the Big Shot is decorated with more Rub-Ons and a Certainly Celery Ribbon (sorry, this is retired, but the Certainly Celery Satin will work just the same and look marvelous!). No, this isn't a decorative ribbon, I used rub-ons directly onto the ribbon!!! Isn't that awesome?!(yes, it will work on your Satin Ribbon too!!).
The card is just a sample of something very clean and simple you could kreate with all these pieces too. Do you see the center bling? Love it!!
Ok, here is your egg...I picked it up at a local craft store and using glue dots adhered little blingy flowers all over.
And here is your bunny... oh ain't it cute? My punch art bunny sitting on this cute little frayed grass - an egg stand transformer ;) with a few flowers in the little basket. This opens up to reveal some yummies in little 'holders' made from the Matchbox die. I'm not sure where this idea originated, but I knew I had to try and make one, so I kreated my own template - very simple! I'll post directions here this week, so you can keep hopping.

And if you missed my Milk Cartons from the other day, look how you can decorate with this awesome kit
I hope you enjoyed seeing what you can do with the Egg-cellent Eggs Kit (I still have SO much left too). It looks like alot of time involved here, not so much, the kit makes it SO easy!!! Some bang for your buck I'd say!!! Well, lets get hoppin...

* Using SU Markers :Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Apricot Appeal, Close to Cocoa, I colored in my buggies

* With the new Well Scripted set, from the Occasions Mini, I stamped my sentiment in Close to Cocoa
* An Old Olive Satin Ribbon is tied around the card in a knot.

MOJO 123 in Vogue

I just had to play with the Occasions Mini Vintage Vogue again, I just love it! The images make it easy to kreate with and with the new Clear Mount option it makes designing/placement a snap! I have a bit of cleaning up to do in my work space, so with the set still out on my desk and a few (ah hem) scraps laying around, this card came together quickly. I checked out the Mojo Monday sketch for a design layout and went to work.
* Pretty in Pink standard cardbase.
* The border image was inked in Pretty in Pink first and then again in Real Red. I stamped off the Real Red once before offsetting it and layering it over the Pretty in Pink to kreate a softer shadowed look. (difficult to see in the photo, but it is a very subtle shadow)
* Using the new Scallop Trim Border Punch (available in the Sale-a-bration brochure with a $50+ order), I punched out a decorative edge on Real Red
* Layered the gorgeous new Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon on top, to allow just the scallops to peek out
* Using the coordinating Scallop Trim Corner with the Scallop Trim Border, I kreated another decorative edge Real Red rectangle
* Stamped my sentiment from Well Scripted, isn't that font fabulous, in Real Red onto Very Vanilla and adhered it to my Real Red rectangle
* Stamped my large and small flower images in Real Red and snipped out
* The largest flower got a cutesy center with the striped Choc Chip Sending Love Epoxy Brads - these are all darling little brads, love 'em
* Inked out a few leaves in Old Olive and snipped them out
* Positioned my flowers and then using the vine image inked in Old Olive, stamped around a few of the flowers. Then adhered the flowers with a glue dot. The largest flower a dimensional. Finally the snipped out leaves around select flowers.
Hope you enjoyed another installment of Vintage Vogue - I can't tire of this set, its just so pretty!! :)

Pretty in Pink & Rich Razzleberry -all the Vogue

Another card using the new Vintage Vogue set from the Occasions Mini :) Lovin' this set, so pretty!! Scroll down one post to see another birthday with this set- I was so happy with how it turned out! I had out the Pretty in Pink cardstock and you can always use b-day cards so why not play some more! :)
* Ran a standard card of Pretty in Pink through the Big Shot with my Scallop Circle Die. Left a few scallops above the fold of the card before running through to make sure the card stays intact - otherwise you will end up with 2 scallop circles!
* Inked up my vine with Old Olive and stamped it around the left edge of my scallop circle
* On a piece of Whisper White scrap, I inked up the two size flowers in Pretty in Pink and Rich Razzleberry and snipped them out.
* With a dollop of Crystal Effects in the center, I sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds. Placed a dimension on the back of each flower and bent up the petals a tad for more of a 3-D effect.
* Inked up the sentiment with the new Well Scripted set in the Occasions Mini. Isn't the font just gorgeous! So easy to have accurate and straight placement with the new Clear Mount option!
* Ran the new Beautiful Wings Embosslit through the Big Shot with Rich Razzleberry. I chose one of the 4 embossed and cut out butterflies to make a soft landing next to the sentiment. Added a tiny pizazz to the body with a dab of Crystal Effects and a tad more Dazzling Diamonds.

Vintage Vogue and NEW goodies :)

This Vintage Vogue card is on its way down to Florida to wish one of my dear friends a very happy birthday! This card features all new goodies from the Occasions Mini :) FUN!!
* Started with a standard card base of Kraft cardstock and using a Sponge Dauber distressed the edges with Soft Suede ink
* I chose to purchase the NEW Vintage Vogue set with the NEW Clear Mount option and it made it SO easy to line up my Soft Suede border to the left of my new Satin Ribbon.
I was skeptical of the acrylic clear mounts at first, BUT they are fabulous!! Of course it is the absolute same great quality SU always produces!!! Silly me, I never should have questioned it!! Have no fear, if you remain skeptical, the great thing is you still have the option to purchase the sets in wood mount as well!! Next to the item #, you will see a 'C' for Clear Mount and a 'W' for Wood Mount. Back to the card...
* The NEW Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon is gorgeous. For some reason I think the satin ribbons kreate the prettiest bows! In the center of my bow I attached the NEW Choc Chip 1/4" Sending Love Epoxy Brads and adhered to the card with some glue dots.
* Using another image from the set, a floral vine, I inked it in VersaMark for a soft tone on tone look.
* The NEW Scallop Trim Corner and Scallop Trim Border(can only be received from the Sale-a-bration brochure for FREE with a $50+ order), kreated a delicate matte in Pretty in Pink behind my image. I had a very difficult time figuring out how to make the last 'leg' of my rectangle work. I found this tutorial from Linda Heller, which finally got 'er done!!!
* The 'F'riends' image was stamped in Soft Suede ink on a distressed Very Vanilla cardstock. Inked it up a second time and stamped it on a piece of Very Vanilla scrap and with my Paper Snips, cut out my 'F'
* With my VersaMarker, I outlined the cut out 'F' and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I layered it on top of my stamped image with dimensionals.
* The final touch was the NEW Beautiful Wings Embosslit die. I ran a piece of Pretty in Pink through the Big Shot with this new die and kreated the prettiest textured butterflies, only used the 3 littlest on this card. Distressed each butterflies wings with Soft Suede and gave them Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint bodies (YES, these shimmer paints are still available to order during this catalog period!). Using the back of a paint brushed dipped in the shimmer paint, I lightly 'dotted' in bodies.
* Each butterfly took flight and landed on a glue dot to keep them put! :)
Hope you enjoyed seeing some of my NEW goodies from the Occasions Mini. Leave me a comment below, love to know your thoughts :)
