Milk Cartons

Heres another fun project that we completed in my 'Sweet Treats' class. And what timing, this week, the demo group I belong to decided on a box challenge, so I thought this fit the challenge. Feel free to take the challenge yourself!! It's fun to step out of the box (no pun intended :) ) The smallest box was kreated with a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 sheet of Summer Yellow cardstock. With your 8-1/2" side across the top, you will score at 2, 4, 6, 8" and then with the 5-1/2" side across the top you will score at 2". Then you will cut along the score lines up to the 2" score line (see picture below to get the idea - picture below is scored for a 8-1/2x11 box) I decorated the top 3-1/2" panels with the Upsy Daisy set in Summer Yellow (sorry came out way too light, next time a deeper shade). Optional: On the last 2" panel you can punch out a circle to kreate a little peek a boo window to see your treats inside:) Adhere your box side and the bottom - use all bottom flaps to keep base stronger for support. At the top, pinch edges together and then punch two 1/8" circles to feed your ribbon through. Adorable, right?
The larger box is using a 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of Apricot Appeal. With the 11" side across the top, scoring at 2-1/2, 5, 7-1/2, 10 and then with 8-1/2 across the top score at 2-1/2. See picture - cut each score line up to the 2-1/2" score line.
If you'd like the optional peek a boo window, the panel where the little 'arrow' is pointing is where you'd place your 'window'. Hope you can follow this - if not, please feel free to contact me and I will gladly help you figure it out.
Ok, so on the large box I used Pumpkin Pie, Choc Chip and Old Olive ink and the Autumn Harvest stamp set. Pinched the top of my box closed and placed an Old Olive grosgrain ribbon to close the carton. Added an Old Olive Tag with the sentiment, from Loads of Love Accessories, inked in Pumpkin Pie. Snow Swirled Treat

The next project from my 'Sweet Treats' class is this fun pull treat. These got such the WOW factor when I handed these out at my open house that I had to show them how they could kreate their own. Here is the tutorial so you can join in the fun! The one on the left is using Brilliant Blue cardstock (with a Bashful Blue ribbon pull) and the one on the right is Brocade Blue cardstock (with a White ribbon pull). Both were stamped randomly in Whisper White ink with the snowflakes from the Snow Swirled set. The Whisper White 'belly bands' are inked with Bashful Blue snowflakes and the sentiment comes from this same great set. The snowman, inked in Bashful Blue, comes from a hostess lev 2 set, Deer Friends. The snowman was punched out using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch and then placed on dimensionals on a 1 3/8" Circle of Brilliant Blue. I love how they came out! Let me know what you think!

Treat Box

As promised, over the next few days, I will share with you some fun projects that we did at my 'Sweet Treats' class. Of course with Halloween upon us, we made them much sweeter with candies to put inside :) But by no means are these little treats only for candy - these could hold any type of little gift - oh the possibilities :) I'll share a little secret: I made another to hold some 4x4 cards and envelops to give as a gift :) See, not just for candy!



These little pizza boxes were done by one of my super talented Cyber 'Pals',Tiffany. You can see her box here.
Sooooo cute, right?!! Thanks so much for the inspiration Tiffany. My original sample to show the ladies was done with Jersey Shore (retired) DSP and my pumpkin 'embellishment' came from the Batty for You set. Inked up the pumpkin stamp with Only Orange Marker and the sentiment around, with a Brilliant Blue Marker. Popped it out with a 1 1/4" Circle Punch and mounted it on a 1 3/8 Circle Punched Tangerine Tango circle. Little orange curly ribbon...adorable box!! For my class we used the new Ghostly Greetings DSP. Frankenstein was inked with an Old Olive Marker and the sentiment around in Elegant Eggplant. The 1 1/4" Circle Punch fit snuggly around the image so I could layer him on top a 1 3/8" Elegant Eggplant Circle. Purple curly ties it off and completes the first project. Like it?! Hope so! Have fun kreating your own - change the DSP or kreate your own pattern paper by randomly stamping an image and you can make this cute box for any occasion!!! Delightful

This is my last card of all the Flower for All Season images. This is a great little set for only $14.95. So, todays card is just a Delight. That little bird looking at that cute basket of tulips...just adorable, as is each image in this set. To keep the look of my card set, I again used my SU Blender Pens to color in my image on Whisper White. I then took to piercing again at each corner using my Mat Pack and piercing tool. And then mounted this on Barely Banana and used my Scallop Edge Punch to decorate the bottom. I also pierced the Pretty in Pink base at two corners. Baja Breeze is offset and placed vertically behind my image and faux stitched using my white Signo Gel Pen. My sentiment, from Define Your Life,is inked in Regal Rose craft ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. A Baja Breeze double stitched ribbon adds some fun and the finishing touch to the card. So there you have it, all four images from this set are complete and can be viewed if you scroll down my blog. Now I have to create a cute little box to hold them in and I have a great little gift :)

A Cheery Get Well

Sunflowers and a little ladybug, put a little smile on my face when I first saw this cute set, Flowers for All Season. So why not put a smile on someones face who may not be feelin so well! The 4x4 base is Kiwi Kiss with a horizontal band from Ghostly Greetings DSP (designer series paper) - and its not even a halloween card :) SU knows what they are doing, halloween on one side and any occasion on the other - makes the paper soooo versatile! My image from Flowers for All Season is stamped in Basic Black onto Whisper White and I used SU Blender Pens to color it in. TIP: Squeeze the lid of your stamp pad together to kreate a pool of ink on the cover of the opened pad. Dab your Blender Pen in the pool of ink and begin to color/shade. Great alternative to watercolor. Its keeping with the look of the other cards made with this set - to be placed in a box and given as a very cute and functional gift. Scroll down my posts to view my other cards with this adorable set of 4. Ok, back to the card... the Whisper White corners are Ticket Punched and then paper pierced using the Mat Pack with template and mounted onto So Saffron. The sentiment was taken from a Fun and Fast Notes set image. Utilizing Markers, you can be selective and only ink up what you'd like stamped, so I inked the sentiment with my Old Olive Marker and stamped on Whisper White and again mounted on So Saffron. Added 2 Earth Elements Brads to place emphasis on the sentiment and popped it up on dimensionals.

Seasonal Cardinal

Stay tune for two more images from this adorable set, Flower for All Season, but I had some scraps and another cardinal and poinsettia that I had already colored in with SU Blender Pens and ink. I figured why not throw together a quick card with some stuff already out on my table. The 4x4 card base is Ruby Red with a diagonal strip of Old Olive. Like I said I already had my image completed - stamped in Basic Black and colored in with Blender Pens on Whisper White. Kreated score lines around the image and popped it up on dimensionals. I used the stamp from Punches Three (current hostess set lev 1) and inked it in Ruby Red Craft Ink (wiped off the excess ink with a baby wipe so just 'Merry Christmas' was inked. Then sprinkled Clear Embossing Powder over it and heated it up to really make my sentiment 'shine'. Punched out the sentiment with my large Oval Punch and then placed an oval piece from the Silver Hodgepodge Hardware (had to use my paper snips to trim a bit of the Whisper White oval) Gave it a bit more 'shine' with two Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads to hold my hardware in place. Really was a quick card, but I guess I had a big advantage with some already 'prepared' items :) But really, the only task on this card that will take a wee bit of time is coloring your image, other than that it was a cinch! So, don't forget about those scraps, because if you are in a pinch, you could make that quick and cute card just like I did :)
