Out of town guests, my daughters dress rehearsal this AM, my twin nieces b-day party this afternoon, and the big recital tomorrow - phew, what a weekend! But I wanted to quick share this card that I kreated using this weeks SCS Sketch 234. My card was kreated using a lot of Last Chance Accessories. Don't forget, you only have until Tuesday June 30th to stock up on any of your favorites. Kreated with Last Chance In Colors, Pink Pirouette starts my 4-1/4x5-1/2 base. Bella Rose DSP kreates a little whimsy with those big polka dots and the reverse side, a softer pink pirouette pattern, is added to the vertical elements of the sketch. Stamped my scrumptious cupcakes from the Crazy for Cupcakes set in Basic Brown onto Whisper White and used my Blender Pens to color them in with Pretty in Pink and Riding Hood Red. Squeeze your SU ink pad together and you will kreate a little pool of ink in the lid when opened. Dab your Blender Pen to pick up a little ink and begin to 'color'. Hint: I always start at the edges where I want the most concentrated color to appear and then the Blender Pen will gradually fade out - gives the images a 'natural' shadowing and watercolored appearance. Scribble off excess ink on your blender onto scrap and you are ready to pick up your next color. I used my 2-way glue pen and some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to that oh so yummy frosting. Punched out two Riding Hood Red Scallop Squares and adhered them to opposing corners of my image and popped it up on dimensionals.

Swirled in Riding Hood Red

What fun to use new stamp sets! And the best part of these new sets, they are die-cut - just pop them off the rubber and place them on your wood - no more cutting! So I took this new set Snow Swirled, which is on special until September 30th, make sure to check out current promotions. I inked my tree in Riding Hood Red and then again in VersaMark, just slightly off the original image. I sprinkled some Silver Embossing Powder on top and heated up my image. A little luster to my tree. Also added some non-SU rhinestones (difficult to see in this picture) and one blue Circle Ice Rhinestone to top off my tree. I used my bone folder to kreated score lines around my image and then I sponged Riding Hood Red all around my tree (looked to stark in whisper white). I placed the image up on dimensionals and placed it on Riding Hood Red base. For my faux metal embellishment, I inked up my stamp, from Punches Three(hostess lev 1), in VersaMark and stamped it on a piece of Brushed Silver paper and heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. Punched out the 'embellishment' with my new Scallop Square Punch added the Horizontal Punch on each side and threaded the new Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and 'cinched' it up.

Fresh Inspiration

This card was kreated using last weeks Splitcoast Card Sketch (SC191). I inked up the 'vine' from Fresh Cuts set in Versa Mark and stamped it onto Not Quite Navy. Baja Breeze was stamped on twice, vertically, with the background stamp from Fresh Cuts in Not Quite Navy ink. Each piece was distressed along the top edge with a very important tool, my fingernail :) The Not Quite Navy piece was also distressed down the middle of the card. Both pieces were mounted on a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 Whisper White card base. Layered on top, again, distressed Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, and my 'vine' images inked in Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze on Whisper White. The sentiment, from Sincere Salutations, is inked in Not Quite Navy craft ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. TIP: The easiest way to emboss is to use either Craft Ink, or VersaMark to enable the powder to stick prior to using your heating tool. The sentiment panel is finished off with a small White Grosgrain Ribbon. I'm sending this to a male colleague of my hubby's whose sister just passed. I'm hoping this passes in the masculine department - although I am sending it to he AND his wife, so I'm probably safe. Let me know your thoughts. And if you need inspiration, try out the sketch!

I'll be going away for the next few days with my family for our last summer hooray and for my hubby and I to celebrate our upcoming anniversary. I have pre-posted a fun project for you on Friday (as long as there is no glitch and it posts properly - unfortunately I won't have access to a computer) I'll be receiving my goodies from the New catty the end of this week, so hopefully upon my return I'll have some time to stamp and bring you something new next week :)

Happy Harvest

I'm not happy about it, but Fall is upon us! I do enjoy fall, but it just means summer is over and I'm very much a summer girl!! Anyway, I chose to do this weeks sketch challenge from Splitcoast Stampers (SC190) and I challenged myself to try using Tangerine Tango again. Orange just screams fall to me. Last post I tried real hard not to be pulled in that direction, but instead I got a reminder of a NY baseball team. Ah well, I used my Coluzzle to cut my Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip circles. I placed some Tangerine Tango Punched Large Ovals to kreate my pumpkin and a Kiwi Kiss stem and leaf outlined with an Always Artichoke Marker. I inked out my leaves, from a retired (sorry) set Give Thanks, in Chocolate Chip and stamped them onto More Mustard, Riding Hood Red and Really Rust and then used my Paper Snips (scissors) to delicately cut them out and layer them below my pumpkin. I randomly stamped those same leaves on the Tangerine Tango, 4 1/4" square card base, again in Chocolate Chip. The diagonal banner was made with 2 pieces of 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon with the Tangerine Tango base 'peeking' between the ribbons. My circles and images were popped up on dimensionals over my card base. The sentiment from Loads of Love set was inked in Chocolate Chip and stamped onto a Tag punched Tangerine Tango layered on a Chocolate Chip tag, then tied with Linen Thread around my pumpkin stem. I feel a bit better with my use of Tangerine Tango this time and have slightly redeemed myself from my previous post (EEEK). Let me know what ya think! Thanks for the visit

Hey Mets Fans...

Well, if you are a NY Mets fan, you'll love this color combo. :) I was playing around with the New In Colors and I have yet to touch Tangerine Tango. So it was time. I laid Pacific Point and Whisper White next to it and I thought it looked like an OK combo. But after finishing, its NOT my favorite combo- sorry Mets fans (could be cause I'm Not a huge orange fan). But I thought I'd share with you anyway. I used my Coluzzle to pop up my half circle at the top of my card. Tangerine Tango was Scallop Punched and placed in the middle of my circle and my Pacific Point butterfly, from the Priceless set, was set on dimensionals. I inked 2 more butterflies in Pacific Point and gave them a 'flight path' with a Whisper White flourish, again from Priceless, shadowed by a Pacific Point flourish. I used the same 'shadowing' technique with my sentiment. The bottom piece of Tangerine Tango is embossed the ol fashion way with light box and Priceless Stencil (flower). Unfortunately this picture doesn't show the embossed images well, but it is pretty. (if you click on the image to enlarge, you may see the detail a bit better) The edges are decorated using the new Scallop Edge Punch and a White Signo Gel pen finished off the top with alittle faux stitching and some highlighting. What do ya think? Definitely not my normal card, but its good to go out of comfort zone every once in awhile, right????

Diaper Fold Pouches

A little diaper fold and voila, a pouch. These definitely have the cute factor and they are super simple to kreate. I had made these for my New Catalog Open House and had them scattered on the table with some yummy treats inside. Each guest got to make there own too and loved how easy it was - simple, quick, and cute - just the perfect little craft. Again, showing off the new Bella Rose fabulous DSP paper I kreated my little pouches and they look cute with or without further embellishment. The one in the middle, I used my Scallop Circle punch on Pink Pirouette and the butterfly, from Dreams du Jour set, is inked in Riding Hood Red and punched out with the 1 1/4" Circle punch and placed on dimensionals. Also added one more layer of Riding Hood Red, punched out with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch under my butterfly. Have the time for the extra fluff, go for it. Would also look cute using flowers from the Pretties Kit or the Felt Fusion flowers and of course changing up the DSP for your specific occasion. For example the new Ghostly Greetings DSP would be great for a Halloween table decoration. Oh, endless possibilities - gotta love that!

Wishing you Happiness

Sorry if I've been MIA~ we took a long weekend to visit with family and then last night was my Open House to celebrate the release of the New (so fabulous) Catalog. We got to snack, chat, craft, listen to music, check out the new book - such fun!! I had to make sure I didn't overwhelm any potential new stampers, so this was a pretty simple card to kreate~ not a whole lot of 'fluff'. The base is a new In Color, Riding Hood Red, and my butterfly from Dreams du Jour is inked in Riding Hood Red as well and randomly stamped on the top half of my card. My sentiment across the bottom is from Heard from the Heart set and again inked in Riding Hood Red. I then took a piece of Bella Rose Designer Series Paper (DSP) and my Scallop Edge Punch to dress up the bottom of this beautiful paper. Using White Grosgrain Ribbon I tied a stay put bow. The final 'accessory' to this card is a Scallop Circle punched out in Pink Pirouette and set on dimensionals. The 'Love You' stamp from Dreams du Jour was inked with Ruby Red, Pretty in Pink and Always Artichoke Markers and stamped on Whisper White. TIP: You can directly ink up your stamps using markers to get a variety of colors on one stamp or even to omit something (ie: text or design), making the stamp more versatile. After inking with markers, huff to remoisten and stamp. This image was snipped out with my Paper Snips and also mounted with dimensionals onto the Pink Pirouette Scallop Circle for that 3-D effect. Sneak Peek - Scallop Crazy

As a SU demonstrator you get many benefits and one of them is the ability to pre-order products from the new catalog (to be released Aug 11th - can't wait!!) I finally got my goodies Friday night, but with a busy weekend, I didn't get to play much until late last night. But without further ado here is a card using a few of my new things
As you can see in this card I went alittle scallop crazy. I love the new Scallop Edge Punch. I think this will be the 'must have' tool of the year!! It was so easy and quick. So if you are one that has used your slit punch or corner rounder to make each scallop one by one, this is the tool for you!!! I also used a new Designer Series Paper (DSP), Bella Rose that matches the new In Colors. The base is Pink Pirouette and layered under Bella Rose DSP, is Riding Hood Red. Not too much stampin on this card. I took my new stamp set Dreams du Jour and used Mellow Moss, Ruby Red and Pretty in Pink to color on my stamp. Those colors match very close to the DSP. I inked up my stamp, huffed it to remoisten and stamped it onto Whisper White. Placed my In Color layers of Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette behind my image and popped it up on dimensionals. Did the same layering with my sentiment that was inked in Mellow Moss as well. This card was very simple to make, definitely under 15 minutes. Not sure its a favorite, but its growing on me. What do you think, I'd love to know!
