No peeking with this gift! If you do, you'll be pleasantly surprised by what is inside, but you may not be able to put it back quick enough if you are trying to sneek a peek! Isn't this a cute way to present a small (and light weight) gift and then have an adorable keepsake. I was inspired to kreate this box by Robyn from In Joy Stampin. I'm not sure if she is the originator of this idea, but all the same, its an adorable project whoever came up with it! Very simple, take your 12x12 paper and score at 4 and 8 and then turn and score at 4 and 8 again. Cut your middle pieces, across from each other, along the score lines. Fold all your score lines and you'll be able to fold these up into a box -NO adhesive, your lid will hold it all in place. See, your lid holds your boxes shape and once removed, your 12x12 will open up to reveal what is inside :) Ok, now you need your lid. Cut a 6 in square and score all sides at 1 in. At each corner, cut up to the intersecting score line and cut the corner square into a diagonal. Use the remaining triangles/diagonal cut piece, add a mini glue dot and kreate your lid. TIP: If you'd like to scallop your edge like I did, you'll have to do this before you adhere your corners. TIP #2:You may want to try making your lid with scallops out of copy paper first before using the good stuff :)
I used coordinating colored 3-11/16 squares to place on my 4 inch patterned paper squares. The center, I used a Whisper White square which I stamped on, but I can still journal on and then covered it with another square scored at 1/4" on the top to kreate a flap. Embellished my flap and all that is left is adding my pictures. My girls are wearing the cutest pink and white dresses for Easter - I'll be taking plenty of pictures to place in my box :) Contact me if you have questions on this quick tutorial. It really is quite simple!
For now, go kreate
Kim
