C is for Cookie

'Sunny Day, keepin the clouds away...' I could impress you and sing the lyrics, remember I have 2 little ones ;) Although Sesame Street seems to have taken a bit of a back seat to Dora and anything 'princess' - the Sesame St characters still bring a smile. We have two b-days to celebrate, each little boy turning 1. So I just had to whip up an Elmo and Cookie Monster card, the original designer of these is a fellow SU demonstrator named Karla
Not only is this an adorable card, but they could embellish a scrapbook page as well :)
* Both were run through the Big Shot with the Scallop Circle Die. A Real Red Elmo and Pacific Point (returning color!!) Cookie. Fold your cardstock and place fold under a few scallops to leave your 'hinge' intact.
* Eyes popped out with a 1-1/4" Whisper White Circle
* Eye balls popped out with a misc non-SU circle punch (shhhhh)
* Elmos nose 1-1/4" Dusty Durango Circle popped up on a dimensional
* Mouths kreated with the Big Shot and Ovals Die. Cookie, I cut his oval approx in half. Elmo, after cutting out the oval, I placed it back over the die again and ran it through for a little 'crooked' smile.

Super cute right?? Lets hope the 1 years olds think so :) (I got this one in the bag - hehe!!)
Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!!

The Best Cake Ever

I know you don't want to hear excuses, you just want to see inspiration! So I won't bore you with my life, but I will be back with my kreations very soon. For now I know you will adore this awesome inspiration!! I was HONORED to recently receive a Beautiful Blog Award from Lorraine at Paper Vernissage. Thank you so much Lorraine for your kind words and finding inspiration in the little things I do :) Lorraine kreates wonderful cards/projects (I'm amazed at times what she does with recycled materials aka Thursday Throwaways), she also has a love for nature and captures things great and small w/ gorgeous photos - not to mention her sense of humor in some of her posts. So make sure to visit her. Now, talk about inspiration... this was the swap she gave me at the Dream Night Event. Wow, is this the cutest thing ever? I absolutely LOVE it. Every detail is just perfect!! A zero calorie cake she calls it that fits perfectly in a little box she made as well!! Don't ya love it! OK, if you are not seeing it, that is a little tealight that she covered with DSP and she used the little flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack in the Summer Mini. Flippin' cute I tell ya!

Get Ready for a Tropical Party!!!!!

More Dream Night Make-n-Take projects...all kreated with the new Tropical Party set in the Summer Mini. All the makings of a Summer party!! From the invitation to some cute favors!! The new Tropical Party set, Island Florals Bigz Die, Party Favor Boxes, Island Oasis DSP - all must haves for your upcoming summer luau!! Hope this gives you some fun inspiration

Here is the adorable tri-fold w/pocket invitation. The Old Olive belly band was inked with Old Olive palms from the Tropical Party set and adorned with Island Oasis DSP flowers from the Bigz Die, Island Florals in the new Summer Mini. The belly band wrapped around the Tempting Turquiose 'card', unveils an adorable invitation. Edges were spruced up with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.
The main invitation was matted with Pumpkin Pie and placed in the center. The bottom 'fold' of the invite, kreated a little pocket to place an RSVP card/directions or whatever extra info you wanted to add. Such a CUTE idea.

These Party Favor Boxes are SO cute. Check out page 27 of the Summer Mini. You get 6 die-cut boxes and bellybands in 2 different patterns (12 total) for $5.95. How cute to add these as a favor to a summer party? And they take no time at all to assemble, but these are only available while supplies last!
This came together SO quickly!! Island Florals (Bigz Die) were already precut with the Big Shot and ready to be put together and adorn our bellyband for a quick, easy, adorable favor box. Cute cute, right?

This is another very cute favor or gift idea. This Tropical Gift 'Box/Bag' was kreated with a piece of Rose Red cardstock and a Tempting Turquoise belly band, all 'wrapped' around a small Tempting Turquoise box. All were stamped with coordinating ink colors with the florals from the Tropical Party set. The 'closure' is kreated with Old Olive run through the Big Shot with the Top Note Die. Palms decorated in Old Olive randomly on the Top Note. The Crop-a-dile places uniform holes through all layers to thread a Pumpkin Pie Wide Striped ribbon.

I was lucky to be a part of a small 'Anything But a Card' swap with my Inksistas' also fellow SU demonstrators. I rec'd some fabulous projects!! Here are 2 that I thought fit perfectly with this 'party' theme.

How cute is this Mini Milk Carton? Fill it with some yummy candies and it makes a very cute favor. What about adding a name card and you have a place card holder?! Oh so cute!! Thanks Debbie Modrowsky for this great swap!

Dale Morin swapped this very fun Fancy Favor box. Flowers and band kreated with the new Island Oasis DSP

Ya ready to Party now?? I know I am :) So Fun!!!! Hope you liked seeing these great ideas from my recent Dream Night extravaganza!!

Happy Kreating

Sentimental Journey - Fathers Day

I will continue to show you all the fun projects from Dream Night, but I will spread it out between some of my own kreations :) I wanted to make sure I have my Fathers Day Cards in order, it always creeps up on me and I wanted to make sure I wasn't being my normal last minute Nelli (when under pressure is when all the creative juices start gushin'! But with some busy weeks coming up, I am TRYING to get ahead)

This card uses the car image from one of Shelli's Signature collection sets (aka a favorite of hers), Sentimental Journey, in the current Summer Mini Catalog.
* Card begins with a Not Quite Navy standard size base
* A piece of Bella Bleu DSP decorates the bottom half. Both sides of SU DSP is always so beautiful, so why not make it seen? Turn up the corner to get a peek. Used my finger nail and a Sponge Dauber w/Choc Chip ink to distress it a bit and keep with the vintage feel
* Decided to play with my stapler and adhered a piece of Choc Chip Grosgrain ribbon to hide the 'seam'.
* A panel of Very Vanilla cardstock was run through the Big Shot with the new Square Lattice Embossing folder. Using the Choc Chip ink on my dauber, I lightly swiped across the impressions and inked up the edges. I'm really liking this folder! Check out my Fathers Day Vest card HERE, using the lattice embossing folder. So cool!!
* The car image was inked in Not Quite Navy and stamped onto Very Vanilla and inked and stamped again onto a piece of scrap. Snipped it out and placed it on dimensionals. Distressed the edges with Soft Suede ink and my finger nail again (I may need to get a manicure after this card is done LOL). Matted it with a piece of Choc Chip textured cardstock w/ more distressing. Placed on dimensionals on my Very Vanilla Lattice textured panel.
* A snippet of Choc Chip Ribbon stapled to the panel and a Choc Chip Cordorouy button opposing each corner draw your eye to the focal image
* If ever there were a set I couldn't do without... Teeny Tiny Wishes, it has just about every occasion you need!! Happy Fathers Day inked in Not Quite Navy, popped out with my Word Window Punch and distressed with Choc Chip ink. FYI: ALL the phrases in Teeny Tiny Wishes can be popped out with the Word Window Punch - awesome!

Well, what do you think? Too busy??!! It grew on me from last night! I think I'm really likin' it now :) I'm not too worried as the men in my life don't usually critic my cards LOL. But I'd love to know what YOU think! Please leave me a comment - I love to read your thoughts!!

Any questions about any of my kreations, I am only a click away :) Thanks for taking a moment to stop by to get a little dose of me :)

Tropical Party

These are 2 cards from the recent Dream Night Workshop, kreated with the Tropical Party set in the new Summer Mini. I did add a few extra touches when I got home,Kim'isms', so these are the 'after' photos. ('Befores' just as cute, but I had to make them my 'own', ya know?)

This one started with an Old Olive card base, both back and front edge of card is given a decorative edge with the Scallop Border Punch.
So Saffron was run through the new Lattice Embossing folder for a textured horizontal strip and matte behind the focal image.
Accented the lattice a bit with a few swipes of Old Olive on a sponge across the lattice as well as distressing the edges of the So Saffron pieces, card base and palm image. It adds a bit more depth and character.
Old Olive palms were stamped around a layer of Whisper White
The palm tree was stamped in Old Olive and without reinking stamped to the right and left of the 'main' tree.

A few little Kim'isms' to this card:
* I stamped my palm again, on scrap, in Old Olive, snipped it out and layered it on a dimensional
* Crystal Effects on my 'main' palm branches gave it even more dimension
* A little bling? Coconut bling??? 2 rhinestone coconuts glisten from the tree :)
Can ya feel the island breeze??

Isn't it cute? It is a pocket card and matching envie. How adorable for a summer bbq invite or luau invite!
After assembling the Pumpkin Pie pocket card and the Tempting Turquiose/Whisper White insert, the Scallop Border Punch was used for some decorative edges and a strip of the new Island Oasis DSP adds more of that aloha feel to the 'flap' of the card.

The oh so yummy island drink is inked in Melon Mambo on the insert and again of a piece of scrap and snipped out.
The snipped out 'cocktail' is added to Tempting Turquoise polka dot dsp,in the Island Oasis pack, matted on Old Olive and Whisper White - all popped up on dimensionals.
When I got home, I added a few little Kim'isms' to this kreation as well-
* the umbrellas were colored in with SU Markers - Summer Sun, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Only Orange and then layered with some Crystal Effects
* the straw was also colored with Summer Sun and highlighted with Crystal Effects
* the snipped out coconut on the front of the card was snazzed up with Dazzling Diamonds
Ahhhhh, can't ya feel the island breeze and smell the Pina Colada? :)
I'm ready for a Tropical Party, aren't you?

Thanks for taking a moment to stop by to get a little dose of me :) Any questions, I'm just a click away :)

Dream Night Gift Tote

Ugh! Another busy week! Sorry for the lack of posting. What is it about the month of May??? I do have LOTS to share with you, but just need a few more hours in the day and few extra hours of sleep - after a very late Dream Night Tuesday evening, I am still trying to recoup LOL

Let me show you a few things from Dream Night. As promised, this is the adorable rag tote we rec'd from Dawn (kreated using the Big Shot and Scalloped Square die to cut out fabric and batting & a sewing machine of course). Don't ya love it?? I'm a pink girl and I love butterflies, so this had my 'name written all over it' (has Shelli's John Hancock written on it too!) The same fabric was what she had handmade all the pj's, aprons, and decor in. Scroll down to next post to see Shelli Gardner in her pretty pjs :) The presentation of the totes was way cool - all rolled tight to make a tiered cake (see next post).

Around the cake were these BEAUTIFUL butterflies kreated with the Big Shot and Bigz Beautiful Butterflies die and Butterfly punch. Can you see the layers - a large Whisper White butterfly, an embossed with Perfect Polka Dots vellum butterfly, and a Whisper White Dazzling Diamonds Punched Butterfly. Delicate and SO pretty - gorgeous accent to this cake. How pretty would they look all over a real wedding cake!

The rest of Dream Night focused on cards and projects using the Tropical Party set and coordinating products from the NEW Summer Mini. Check back tomorrow :)

Looky Looky

I had a wonderful opportunity to attend a post event(jammie party) last night with Dawn Rapsas winner of a Workshop of a Lifetime. What an event Dawn had in store for us, meeting Shelli, CEO of SU, 8 make-n-takes, displys, free products, an adorable gift, a chocolate fountain and table of deserts, and meeting up with some fellow demonstrators. It was so much fun!
Shelli is such a down to earth, sweet woman and even in jammies, she is always so fashionable! Yes, she is in jammies. They were hand made and delivered to her minutes before the event to coordinate with the decor, Dawn and all the 'helpers' of Dawns event (super cute aprons and pj's!!) Shelli and Dawn also sported the most adorable slippies :) Those are Shelli's piggies in her slippies/flip flops. The butterflies are kreated to match her jammies from the Beautiful Butterflies die - aren't they adorable?!

This 'cake' was adorable, pink and gorgeous butterflies (so me!!) and was eventually broken down and we each rec'd an adorable rag tote - you'll have to wait to see a photo. I was the first to ask Shelli to sign mine(on the bottom) and she was so cute - afraid to mess up her {heart} signature on fabric ~ perfect keepsake from a fun evening!

I am absolutely exhausted after not falling asleep until 2AM. Over the next few days I'll get to show you the make-n-takes and some fabulous anything but a card swaps I rec'd. For now, I'm off to plop on the couch, if my little ones will allow it. Nap time for all! LOL

Scrapping with a Vintage Style

It's National Scrapbooking Month and I'll be darn if I'll let it pass me by without a page!!! This is a picture of my mothers mom, my grandma Agnes. She left this world way to soon when hit by a drunk driver when my mom was only 14. She has always said I had her moms smile and she sees her in me. When she gave me this photo a few weeks ago, I immediately envisioned a scrapbook page with the new Elements of Style.
* I matted the photo with Pink Pirouette, soon to be a part of our core colors with the release of the Color Renovation in new Idea Book and Catalog debuting July 1
* I layered this over an Eyelet Border punched Whisper White rectangle
* To enhance the vintage feel I used a Sponge Dauber and Soft Suede ink to distress the edges of both layers
* The beautiful floral image from Elements of Style, was inked in Soft Suede and stamped onto a 12x12 Sahara Sand. Again, edges distressed with Soft Suede ink
* The Sahara Sand page was given a Smooch with Vanilla Shimmer Spritz before I added my photo panel
* Added a pop of color to the center of my large bow, with the gorgeous Wide Striped Choc Chip Ribbon, with a pretty in pink houndstooth brad (sorry retired!)
* Dangled a non SU heart tag from my bow. (My Mini Vintage Tags in the Summer Mini ARE on order ;) !!!)
* The remainder of the ribbon was ruffled up for a soft, feminine, vintage feel. TIP: Separate/fray ribbon edge, then pull about 2 fibers from the ribbon and continue to pull and scrunch until you get the length and 'tightness' you are looking for
* Lovely Letters was the pefect set for this layout. Stamped in Soft Suede and popped out with the 1-3/8 Square Punch. Daubers assist me in distressing yet again. FYI: You may wonder why I always use daubers vs sponges? I don't mind getting my hands dirty, but I DO mind when those dirty fingers ruin a project!!!! For distressing, Sponge Daubers allow me to keep my finger tips ink free and my projects safe from ruin!

I'm scrap happy :) It felt really good to do a page, and hopefully I'll have the time to do some more! I already asked mom for my Pop-Pops old navy photo. I see a spread, oh unless I do one of my mom, or another spread of my mom and dad - ooooo the wheels are turning!!! So how did I do????? Let me know what you think, it has been a long time since I've completed a scrapbook page!!

Any questions about any of my kreations, I am only a click away :) Thanks for taking a moment to stop by to get a little dose of me :)

Schnazzy!!

I want to say a quick thanks to Ruth and Charnell for attending my class last night -so nice to meet you and we look forward to seeing you again. This is one of the projects/cards we made. The ladies loved it :) Isn't this the greatest vest?!! I got this adorable template from Amy Celona, and made a few minor changes.
* I cut out my vest in Choc Chip card stock. Inked aroung the edges using a Sponge Dauber and Choc Chip ink
* With the new Square Lattice Embossing Folder in the Summer Mini, we embossed the vest 'flaps' - love how this texture makes it look like fabric - tres chic!!
* Using the Tag punch (cut down), we kreated our pocket. Again given some dimension by daubbing Choc Chip ink around the edges and then placing on dimensionals.
* Tucked a Very Vanilla Satin ribbon into the pocket to resemble a hanky
* Silver brads kreate the perfect 'buttons'

* The inside shirt, tie and collar were all kreated using To The Nines Specialty Paper - absolutely perfect for the masculine vest.
* Added my sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes punched out with the Word Window Punch.

Schnazzy, ain't it :) Let me know what ya think - I love to read your thoughts :)
