I am pretty confident that my brother will not be checking out my blog (LOL), so I think I am safe in showing you this card before his b-day tomorrow. Husband, father, father in law, 3 older brothers - why is it still so tough to make masculine cards??? Thank goodness none of the men in my life really care. LOL
I started out with this past weeks Mojo Monday sketch challenges. I find challenges are a great starting point and a way to jump start some inspiration. So this card came together very quickly as I already had my sketch to work with and being it was a masculine card, the simpler, the better :) (I think?)
* Using my Circle Scissors Plus tool, I kreated 2 perfect circles in Sahara Sand and Choc Chip
* Inked up my tree, from Lovely as a Tree, in Choc Chip Craft ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. In order to emboss, make sure you are using Craft Ink or VersaMark Ink which will allow the powder to stick to your image. Then using your Heat Tool, you will see the powder begin to melt to a raised and shiny embossed image. TIP: Be careful to avoid over heating or your image/paper will burn and you will lose the effect of the raised shiny image
* Tore and distressed (using my finger nail to fray the edges) my Sahara Sand circle and then using a Sponge Dauber and Choc Chip ink, further distressed the edges with ink. Matted on the Choc Chip circle with Dimensionals
* Using a scrap of To The Nines Specialty paper, I tore and distressed this panel using the same technique as above
* Added Choc Chip Grosgrain Ribbon to the panel and then set Metallic Eyelets with my Crop a Dile. Adhered the panel with SNAIL and then added my circle focal image on more Dimensionals. * My sentiment, from Sincere Salutations, was inked in Choc Chip Craft ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.
