I'm loving the Parisian Breeze Designer Series paper. I thought my butterfly from Gods Beauty (hostess lev 1) would take flight on this breezy paper. A little late with last weeks Splitcoast Sketch 225, but I thought it would work well for this beautiful butterfly image to be a focal point. I actually stamped this image onto a pizza box with Choc Chip Craft ink ~ the pizza box is thick, so its a great dimensional look. TIP: When heat embossing, you will need to use either Craft Ink or VersaMark (both are a 'stickier' ink that doesn't dry as quickly as the Classic Ink) so your embossing powder will adhere to the ink before you use your heat tool to give it a very pretty shine. I then used my Blender Pens and ink pads to color in the wings. TIP #2: Kreate a 'pool' of ink inside your SU ink pad ~ Gently squeeze together the center of a closed pad and when you open it you will have your 'palette' of ink. Dip in you Blender Pen and you can begin to color. TIP #3: Blender Pens are wonderful, you get 3 in a pack and you can use them over and over and over!!! After picking up one ink color, simply scribble off that color on a piece of scratch paper and you are ready to pick up the next color- convenient! And don't worry if the tip of your Blender gets 'stained' - it will still work the same for you. TIP #4: If you don't have a specific ink pad color, but you have that color SU Marker, use your marker to kreate a palette on a piece of wax paper or even the plastic lid of your stamp set. Works great!
Hope those were a few helpful tips. The rest of the card is pretty explanatory. Thanks for taking a peek!

So Tweet
As promised, here is the adorable box we made at the demo class I went to last Friday.
We painted our boxes (from Michaels) first with white paint and then the real fun began. Using the So Tweet On Board Chipboard and Good Morning Sunshine designer paper, we decorated our birds, owl, flowers and stems and then glued them (Tombo MultiPurpose Adhesive #110755) on to the box. I love it and its a perfect fit for 4-1/4x 5-1/2 cards. Cute and functional - Gotta love that!
Happy Monday everyone!

Birthday Wishes, SC213

Better late than never! I had it all planned out to work on a bunch of fun sketches this week and then... life happens! But I got a chance to play with this sketch from SCS. I thought it was going to be so easy and then I had a real hard time with the horizontal piece (the Pretty in Pink with the Rose Red Double Stitched). Then I couldn't decide between a large pink flower or white or just the new ADORABLE Fleurettes. As much as I love pink, I thought I needed a bit of contrast with the white. Lots of back and forth with this card and I'm hoping it'll grow on me - LOL
Happy Stamping!
Supplies:
Stamps: Sincere Salutations, Priceless
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Raspberry Tart DSP
Ink: VersaMark, Rose Red Craft

Enjoy the Super Bowl!!

Sassy
She's retired, but Sassy Suzie is still sassy! I had kreated the first card a while back for my sister in law (never posted it b/c it was retired, but it could still inspire someone out there) and decided to revisit it for a long time friends upcoming b-day.
I liked the bold polka dots from Bella Rose DSP, perfectly sassy, so I thought I'd give my Pretty in Pink and Bella Rose a whirl through my Big Shot with the Scallop Circle Die. Tip: To kreate a Scallop Circle card base, fold card stock to 5.5 x 4.25 card and place the 5.5 scored side on top of the die. Leave four scallops showing above the cardstock. This will be your "hinge."
Both Suzie's are stamped in Basic Black on Watercolor Paper and 'colored' using various inks and my Aquapainter. A Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, weaved through a flower-like piece of Silver Hodgepodge Hardware, hides the 'seam' between my papers. My sentiments on the front of the cards (although different) are inked in Ruby Red Craft ink and heat embossed in Clear Embossing Powder. Inside sentiment of card 1 reads ... 'or is it just the candles on your cake' - the circle card sentiment reads... 'your friendship is the most uplifting thing in my life without underwire' ~ SASSY!!!

Another Season
If you view my previous post, you'll see another seasonal image from A Flower for All Seasons set. This set of four is just so cute! Todays card, the cardinal and poinsettias were stamped in Basic Black ink and then I used my Blender Pens to color the image in on Whisper White. I had to play around a bit with the Blender Pens, but it is an easy alternative to watercoloring. With a closed ink pad, squeeze the pad together and when you open the pad, there will be a little pool of ink in the cover. Just slightly dab your Blender Pen in the ink pool and you can begin to color. When finished with one color, just scribble on scrap until no color comes off your Blender Pen and you are ready for the next color. Pretty easy. I used a circle stencil to cut out my image (the 1 3/8" circle punch would have cut off some of my image), and then placed it on a Ruby Red Scallop Punch. The base of this card is Certainly Celery and a piece of Holiday Treasures Designer Paper was given a decorative edge with the Scallop Edge Punch. Choc Chip grosgrain ribbon finishes off the look and then placed the Ruby Red scallop with image on dimensionals. The sentiment, from Snow Swirled, was inked in Ruby Red and then heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Pretty simple card except for coloring in my image. Hope you like it. Leave me a comment and let me know - love to hear what you think!

Just Cuz
I just love this little frog from A Flower for All Seasons. This is a great little set to make some all occasion notecards and give as a gift -guess you know what I'm up too :) AND its only $14.95. This 4x4 card started with a Bashful Blue base. I took a piece of retired designer series paper in bashful blue (the current bashful blue series would work just as well, or any color scheme you chose) and used my Corner Rounder at each corner. The hardware in the corner is also retired, but a great alternative would be the flower slide in the current Hodgepodge Hardware (I'm just trying not to neglect the 'old' stuff - of course I get lost in always playing with the new toys and forget the 'old' stuff is just as great). I stamped my frog and daisies on Whisper White in Basic Black ink and then used my SU Markers to color them in. Then sponged a Bashful Blue sky behind them. Mounted that on So Saffron. I used my Mat Pack with paper piercer and template to pierce around the one corner. The sentiment, from Just B, (currently on the Dormant List) is heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. 'Just Cuz' I felt like it :) Let me know what ya think

Garden Silhouettes
Quick post today...This is a great little set, Pocket Silhouettes, that is on sale for $16.11 until Sept 30. Don't miss out! One of the 6 stamps from this set was inked in Old Olive and stamped randomly on to the Old Olive base. A piece of Urban Garden Designer Paper was given a decorative edge using the Scallop Edge Punch and layered over a piece of Not Quite Navy. Another stamp from the same set was inked in Old Olive and stamped onto Whisper White. It was punched out using the new Curly Label punch (which is in a very fun bundle deal pg 189)and popped up on dimensionals over an Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon. The sentiment was also inked in Old Olive on Whisper White... and there ya have it. Hope ya like it!

Mini Purse
Isn't this adorable? Are you ready... this is an Altoid tin, turned the cutest mini purse ever!! Need the perfect purse to go with an outfit, kreate one :)
This little purse will hold gift cards, business cards, wallet photos, lipstick, 4 pk of Crayons, some tissues, shall I keep going? This would be great as favors too.
I chose to decorate my tin with Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper, but you could also take any coordinating cardstock and stamp your own design (that will be my next one). I also used Bashful Blue 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, of which, the handles were given some extra pizazz with my White Signo Gel pen. Not only is the outside of this purse adorable, you won't be disappointed when you open it up either. The inside is just as cute :)
Love it :) Do you?

Diaper Fold Pouches
A little diaper fold and voila, a pouch. These definitely have the cute factor and they are super simple to kreate. I had made these for my New Catalog Open House and had them scattered on the table with some yummy treats inside. Each guest got to make there own too and loved how easy it was - simple, quick, and cute - just the perfect little craft. Again, showing off the new Bella Rose fabulous DSP paper I kreated my little pouches and they look cute with or without further embellishment. The one in the middle, I used my Scallop Circle punch on Pink Pirouette and the butterfly, from Dreams du Jour set, is inked in Riding Hood Red and punched out with the 1 1/4" Circle punch and placed on dimensionals. Also added one more layer of Riding Hood Red, punched out with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch under my butterfly. Have the time for the extra fluff, go for it. Would also look cute using flowers from the Pretties Kit or the Felt Fusion flowers and of course changing up the DSP for your specific occasion. For example the new Ghostly Greetings DSP would be great for a Halloween table decoration. Oh, endless possibilities - gotta love that!
Well, I finally placed my order from the New Catalog, so I will anxiously be awaiting my new goodies to play with :) Contact me if you have any questions or would like to place your fun order :) Like a little kid in a candy shop I tell ya :) Want it all, can't have it all, still want it all, but I will be happy with the treats I do get. Until next round, shhhhhhh don't let my hubby know!!!

A Teachers Tote
Its almost back to school - can you believe summer has almost come to an end??? I remember when it was time to go back to school and my mom would say 'lets go pick out your 'tote bag'. Backpacks weren't her 'lingo' until I was... I guess in middle school? So here is my back to school special tote bag :)
I've been more in project mode lately than card making - I hope that's ok! I guess its that time of year when I start thinking holidays, birthdays, teacher stuff - so anywho on to the tote. I used my 'teacherish' apples from the Summer Picnic Designer Paper in the New Catalog. This paper is great and coincides with the fabulous Tart n Tangy set. I inked the apple, from Tart n Tangy in VersaMark and randomly stamped it on Kiwi Kiss. My panel of red apples is lined by Real Red 'straps' which I faux stitched using my White Signo Gel Pen. I attached silver brads to the handles to secure. And the finishing touch a little White Grosgrain Ribbon. A great little gift to fill with notecards (perfect size to hold 4 1/4"x5 1/2" cards and envelops) or any other goodies for a teacher, don't ya think? A gift inside a gift :)

Bella 's Tote
I've seen quite of few of these adorable totes and I had to give it a try myself. Mine doesn't have as much 'cute factor' as others I've seen, much simpler. The directions from this tutorial are easy to follow with an absolutely charming outcome. I chose to use the bold Pink Pirouette polka dots on Riding Hood Red from the soon to be released (Aug 11th) Bella Rose Designer Series Paper. If you haven't read any of my recent posts, I love this new paper. Soft pink roses, small clustered flowers, bold polka dots, small polka dots...And you can have it too in just a few more days! YEAH!!!!
So my little tote was kreated with the Bella Rose DSP and Pink Pirouette cardstock. I accented my tab (tote handles) using the Totally Tabs set and inking the stamp with Riding Hood Red and stamping on Pink Pirouette. Then used the Round Tabs Punch and lined it up with my inked design and punched it out for a perfect 'tote handle'. Placed a 1/8" circle Punch to thread a piece of Pretty in Pink (close enough until I can get my hands on the new in color ribbons :) ) Grosgrain Ribbon. The bottom of the bag is completed using the new Scallop Edge Punch - I believe the must have tool of the year, esp. if you liked to kreate scallops the 'ol fashion way - slit punch or corner rounder. You'll love how easy and quick this new tool is! My dollars well spent as I'm using it all the time :) Instead of adorable buttons to adorn my tote, the final touch to my bag was some 'floating' butterflies that I punched out with a non-SU punch. (Love butterflies - hence my fluttering butterflies in my title header :) ) The center of my butterflies sparkle with a bit of Dazzling Diamonds. This tote is ready for gift givin'.
Reminder: Aug 10th - Last day to order - Only a few days left, so email me your 'retired' orders before its too late!
Aug 11th - The release of the new Fall/Winter Catalog - WaHoo. As soon as I am able, I will have it up on my sidebar for you to click on and browse through. Catalogs are $9.95, if you'd like one sent to you, please email me your contact info and how you'd like to pay, check or credit and I'll gladly put one in the mail for you.
Stay tune for some GREAT promo offers to begin Aug 11th with the release of the new catalog.

Pun Fun is so Fun
Pun Fun is one of my favorite sets and for so many reasons. Whimsical enough for kids, 'sassy' for an adult, adorable line images for watercoloring or coloring, and with 8 stamps in this set there is a stamp that fits most occasions! So the cards are all 3x3 and this adorable little box becomes a home for these cute cards. Fun right!! (Sorry not the best picture - lighting issues) The base, of my cards, is Brilliant Blue and the soon to be retired Designer Series Paper is Jersey Shore. A few other colors you may see on my kreations are Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie and of course Whisper White to stamp my images on. FYI: If you click on the picture, you'll get a much larger image to view. All images were stamped with Basic Black and either watercolored using my Aquapainter or just colored with my Markers. A few different punches also added some 'punch' (hehehe) to the project: Scallop Punch, Scallop Edge Punch (to be released in the new catty Aug 11th), 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Slot Punch, Corner Punch, Ticket Punch. The only card with 'accessories' was my rocket with some Silver Brads in the corners and alittle Crystal Effects for my center circle window. Fun and simple cards! Great little gift option. Hope you like it! Its been a long night, sorry to not be more specific, but if you'd like any more info on this project, feel free to contact me and I will gladly help you out (after I get a little sleep tonight :) )!!

Purse-onally Fab
The cutest little purse, right! This was kreated with my new favorite Designer Series Paper, Bella Rose. The catalog release is just days away, Aug 11th, and you too can enjoy this fabulous paper. Make sure to add it to your wish lists and email me your orders when you are ready. So to kreate this fabulous purse, you use your Round Tab Punch for the base and your small and large Oval Punches for the handle. It is amazing the kreations that people have come up with using punches. I wish I had a better photo to share of all the amazing punch designs that were displayed at the Spring Fling Convention I had attended in the spring... Well, I guess you'll just have to visit my blog often in case I decide to add another fun punch design to a project :)
The base of my card and horizontal scalloped band is one of the upcoming In Colors, Pink Piroutte. And the fun scallops were made with the soon to be released Scallop Edge Punch. My sentiment is from the Just B set and inked in Craft Ruby Red and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. For 'fabulous you'... hope you like it!

Pull on This
Sorry to have been MIA, once again a crazy summer week has struck. I've been able to get some stamping in, so with out further ado... pull on this.
Isn't this a cute card?! Can you tell I'm loving the new Bella Rose paper? This paper will be released with the new catalog, IN ONLY 10 DAYS (Aug 11th) along with lots of new goodies! Can't wait! Don't forget to check out the retiring stamp sets and any accessories you may want, theres not much time left! So back to the card... I used Bella Rose DSP and the new In Colors, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, and Kiwi Kiss. I used VersaMark to randomly stamp my butterflies (from a retired hostess set Cause for Celebration) onto the Riding Hood Red. I then inked my little porcupine from Fast and Fun Notes with Markers and stamped it onto Whisper White and then double mounted it on Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red.
When you pull on the little White Grosgrain ribbon at the top, the card front slides up to reveal the 'inside' of your card. I chose not to place a sentiment at this time, until the occasion arises that I need it. You could also use the Kiwi Kiss 'pull' portion of the card to leave a message to your recipient as well. A few measurements, a few more cuts, and some scoring and its just a fun and different card. What do you think? Leave me a comment, love it when ya do :)

First Sketch Challenge
Well, I finally decided to go to Splitcoast Stampers and try their Wednesday sketch challenge. Here is the end result.
The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is Le Jardin. I love the soft colors and papers in this set, in particular this paper. I had also used it on a scrapbook page of my daughter which you can see here in a larger piece. I layered the DSP on Mellow Moss which I put on a So Saffron cardstock base. The band is a combination of So Saffron and Mellow Moss again with a White Grosgrain Ribbon through the center. Inked in Mellow Moss is my sentiment from Sincere Salutations stamped on to Whisper White. I again layered with Mellow Moss and So Saffron. At this point my Whisper White was just too stark looking, so I used a Dauber and So Saffron ink and dabbed around the sentiment. Then I took the small flourish from the Priceless set and stamped that in So Saffron Ink as well. Hmmmm, needs something.... finally decided to use my VersaMark Marker and trace my 'Birthday' letters and sprinkle with Clear Embossing Powder. TIP: The VersaMark Marker is a great alternative if you don't have Craft ink or a Stamp-a-mi-jig to do a 2-step embossing with Classic ink. If you own a Stamp-a-mi-jig or can eyeball precise placement :), check out this tutorial from Kween Bee, for embossing with Classic Ink
I heated up my sentiment and it gave it just enough to complete the card. I popped up the 'sentiment layers' on dimensionals and I completed my first sketch challenge! So how did I do? Leave me a comment and let me know. Here is the sketch if you'd like to give it a try.

Another Dahlia Fold
Here is one last fold card that I had done awhile ago, but forgot to show you all. This Dahlia Fold is done using Jersey Shore Designer Paper. If its not your favorite, any paper will do (But come on isn't this flower cute!). The stamp set used is So Happy, and yes this is another that will be retiring, so get it before Aug 10th so you don't have to say farewell. The Base of the card is Brilliant Blue. Eight circles were punched out of the Jersey Shore paper to kreate the Dahlia. For directions on how to fold your circles to kreate your dahlia flower, click the link to the right and email me. I used a dauber to ink up a small chipboard flower in Pumpkin Pie. Then I adhered the tiny green Microbeads using Crystal Effects. TIP: Make sure this little gem is set aside to dry a bit before placing on your Dahlia with a Mini Glue dot. One more piece from the Jersey Shore paper is showcased across the center of my card. The paisleys and sentiment from the So Happy set were inked out and stamped in Brilliant Blue. Beside the Dahlia flower taking a bit to assemble, this was a pretty simple card to kreate. Any questions, I'm here to help! Hope you like it!

Money Shot
You know when you've captured a moment with THE perfect photo... well, I know I'm biased, but aren't these the most precious pictures. This is my just turned 4 year old little girl. Unfortunately I had the hardest time taking a good photo of this page to post, it looks so much better in person.
But anyway, I took my Markers, which I love love love and colored the flower and a portion of the stem of my black and white photos. Such a GREAT effect. I had done the same thing on a 6x6 page of my other daughter, which you can see here. These pictures of both my girls were taken the same day, my little one had to follow the lead of her big sister :) Eventually I will make this a 2 page spread. Back to the page...I started with a 12x12 sheet of So Saffron and then matted my photos on So Saffron and Mellow Moss. I used Le Jardin DSP across the bottom and used Mellow Moss Grosgrain Ribbon to hide my 'seam'. I inked the word Priceless, from the Priceless set, in Garden Green and sprinkled it with Clear Embossing Powder and heated it up to make it pop alittle more. Didn't want anything to overpower my photos. TIP: Craft ink or VersaMark is what you will need to emboss, not Classic ink. I then created those daisy like flowers with my Scallop punch and Oval punch for the leaves (one of the many great things I learned at my Spring Fling convention). Placed a cute little So Saffron button in the middle and this too is 'priceless'! I will add my journaling to the bottom left - I just haven't decided how yet :) Any suggestions? Love the way it came out. Hope you like it too!!

Thank You Teachers
I can't believe the school year is over! My daughter's pre-school teachers were great, she was only there 2 times a week for 2 1/2 hours, but she loved every minute and couldn't wait to go every day. I'd say that deserves a big thank you! So here are 3 different cards that I made with that teacher-ish look. What is it about the apple? :)
My first card was inspired by this card from Kris at Kween Bee's Kreations. I changed mine only slightly because why mess with something that I already love!!
The next card is the same layout just a few less features. Definitely under 15 minutes to make.
The final card is a peek-a-boo card I've wanted to make for some time and I finally got around to it. My good friend Tanya reminded me of it when I saw her card. Check it out here.
I kept with the apple theme for my teachers and came up with this peek-a-boo kreation.
The inside is just the apple popped up with dimensionals and punched out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch and an Always Artichoke scallop frame around it.
Ingredients:
Stamp sets: Tart N' Tangy, Fresh Cuts, Best Blossoms (retired)
All cards used Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper (found in the Occasions Mini - only available until June 30th). Other cardstock: Real Red, Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie. Ink: Real Red, Always Artichoke. Accessories: Scallop Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, White Grosgrain, White Signo Gel Pen

4 Pocket Memo Board
Well, here is the final project I have to show you from the Inkredible Spring Fling convention. We used Jersey Shore Designer paper and if this paper doesn't give you that WOW factor than imagine it with your favorite patterned paper.
The supplies used were:
Stamp set: So Happy
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Jersey Shore Designer Series Paper
Inks: Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: On Board Accents, Anywhere glue stick, Sticky Strip, Take Note Rub-ons, Wild Wasabi & Pumpkin Pie Striped grosgrain, Wild Wasabi double stitched, White grosgrain, Daubers, Crystal Effects, small clothespin, 1-1/4" circle punch.
The pockets aren't real deep, but its great to put a memo pad, incoming or outgoing mail, honey-do lists :) etc... I have placed a few items into 2 of the bottom pockets. The little clothespin is attached to another pocket and there is one additional below that with the rub-on "favorite" and little white bow to the left.
4 little pockets. Cute and functional. Makes you want to make one doesn't it!!!
Contact me and I can tell you how.
